New Patient Questions

What should I expect during my first visit?

The initial consult (which is complimentary), we will go over your health history and assess what your personal health goals are. To conclude our session, we will discuss your treatment plan. Once you are ready to move forward, we can start your acupuncture treatment on the same day.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Wear loose, comfortable clothes; socks and shoes come off during treatments.

Can I eat or drink before my session?

It is always a good idea to eat and have something to drink before getting a treatment. Have a small meal or snack and ensure that you are sufficiently hydrated.

How long will my session be?

From start to finish, the session is about 45 to 60 minutes long.

During my session, how long will I have needles in me?

From the time the doctor begins needling the patient (which takes about 10 minutes) the patient should expect to be on the table an additional 30 minutes. This is why we always recommend that our patients use the restroom before the treatment begins.

Once treatment starts, what do I do?

If you like, you can listen to music or a podcast during your treatment, or just use the time to take a nap — acupuncture is a relaxing experience!

What should I do after an acupuncture session?
