Meet Our Team
Just as we love getting to know our patients, we would like for you to get acquainted with us. Read on to learn about who we are and why we started Lightpoint Acupuncture.

Sharron Leigh Crittenden, DACM
Licensed Acupuncture Physician
As a nationally board-certified and licensed Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, and a diplomate with the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), Sharron strives to inspire and heal, one patient at a time.
When Sharron embarked on her journey into the world of acupuncture and Chinese medicine at the age of 39, she was driven by a desire to pursue a purpose over a paycheck. After exploring other career paths and discovering that the Emperor’s College of Traditional Oriental Medicine was located just three blocks from her home in Santa Monica, CA, she knew this was her sign to pursue acupuncture as her profession. After one year, she moved back to New York City and transferred to the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine to continue her studies.
With hard work and dedication, she earned a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, a Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine, and a Bachelor of Professional Studies. In addition, she has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Midway through her studies, Sharron was given the heavy news that she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Despite this, she continued on with her education part-time while undergoing radiation therapy. As it turned out, acupuncture played a crucial role for her recovery and healing, as it had helped her to manage the side effects of treatment. Since then, she has been in remission. For her cancer patients, Sharron draws from her personal experience to provide deep empathy and understanding, enabling her to anticipate their needs with exceptional care and sensitivity.
Continuing on with her studies, she completed her clinical training at institutions such as the New York University (NYU) Langone Hospital’s Orthopedic/Neurology department, where she specialized in acupuncture for post-stroke recovery. In addition, she interned at the Sydney Hillman/Phillips Family Practice, The Institute for Family Health, and Kamwo Herbs Clinic, where she treated patients for a broad spectrum of primary care health issues.
In May 2021, Sharron founded Lightpoint Acupuncture, where she has been dedicated to helping clients heal from low back pain, chronic conditions, infertility, and more. Many of her patients seek her expertise after other health solutions have failed to address the root cause of their issues. With every patient she treats, her goal is to make a difference in their health by at least 30 percent.
Beyond her clinical practice, Sharron is an educator and advocate. She has been featured in blogs on platforms such as the Headline News with CNN, VoyageATL magazine, and 94.9 The Eagle in Statesboro.
Sharron’s journey, marked by determination and compassion, underscores her commitment to holistic healing. At Lightpoint Acupuncture, she continues to touch lives, offering hope, health, and healing to all who seek her care.
